When Mason was born he was a pretty big boy, very stocky. In fact I will never forget the nurse patting me on the shoulder and saying, “Good job momma, you got yourself a line backer.” In fact I heard the word linebacker over and over while in the hospital. So this fall Mason got a chance to test out that line backer status playing flag football for the first time. (It should be noted here that although he started out life well above average in size, he has since fallen below 25% in every bodily category they measure…so chances of that Hawkeye linebacker at this point are slim to none.)
Mason had fun and learned a bit about football. He had several people from his school on his team including Ben Bowen (son of one of my good high school friends, Wendy). We had fun watching the kids learn and get better thanks to the superb coaching by none other than Mason’s own dad.
Mason is #9
